This award winning multi-million pound project consists of 3 artificial biomes full of plants & trees that are collected from all around the world; the Outdoor Biome, Rainforest Biome and Mediterranean Biome around the ‘Core’, an educational centre to give visitors a better understanding of the environment and our interaction with it.
The Eden Project has seen over 8 million visitors since opening in 2001, this includes some 250 school children on a daily basis seeing most of the plant 5,000 species contained in this vast Biomes. The Rainforest Biome alone measures approximately 50 metres high, 110 metres wide and 240 metres long!
With activities, events, fun & games happening all year round, this genuinely is one of Cornwall’s best tourist attractions, whatever the weather! Perhaps the most appealing this Winter; al-fresco dining in the Mediterranean Biome, with its warm climate, lemon trees, vines and olive groves – visitors can enjoy delicious Mediterranean Food baked in the a wood oven, accompanied by Cornish Choirs singing Christmas Carols and a procession of lanterns pass by the biome.
