> What time can we arrive?
We aim for a check in time of 4pm but this is not guaranteed. Please ensure we have an up to date mobile number so we can contact you on the day of arrival if there is a delay, or if your cottage is ready before 4. Check out time is usually 10am.
> Are short breaks available?
Short breaks are available most of the year, except for July to mid September and the school holidays at the end of May, Easter and October. Short breaks may be available during these times in our cottages for couples. Our minimum stay for a short break is usually two nights, but it may be longer than this at Christmas and New Year and over bank holidays.
> Is linen provided?
Yes. All our beds are made up for your arrival. We provide a bath towel and a hand towel per guest. Please bring your own towels for beach, pool or hot tub use. If you would like to borrow a travel cot please bring your own linen for the cot.
> Are there saucepans and utensils?
Yes, all cottages are fully equipped with all cookery equipment.
> Is electricity and gas included?
Yes, all electricity, gas and heating is included in the price of the cottage.
> Are logs for woodbuners included?
We provide the first basket of logs for woodburners in Manor, Parsons and the Farmhouse (October – Easter only).
> Are towels provided?
We provide a bath towel and a hand towel for each guest and a hand towel and bath mat in the bathrooms. We do not provide beach or pool towels. Please bring your own towels for use at the beach, pool and hot tub.
> Do you accept dogs?
Yes we do welcome dogs at Hilton with a £25 per week charge. We do ask guests to keep their dogs on a lead within the complex.
> What will we find in our cottage at the beginning of our stay?
We provide tea towels and washing up sponge, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets, one toilet roll per bathroom, handwash, pint of milk and complimentary tea and coffee. These are not replenished during a stay. Top ups can be purchased at the village shop or local supermarkets.
> Are there stair gates?
In Badger, Primrose and Swallows Nest there are built in stair gates. Stair gates are available to borrow.
> Can you supply cots and highchairs?
Yes we can supply cots and highchairs free of charge.
> Will you provide extra beds?
Where it is possible you can order an extra bed at the cost of £35
> How far is the nearest beach?
We are just two miles from Widemouth Bay which is a safe sandy surfing beach. We are also close to Bude where you can find many other beautiful beaches. All of these are within a 10 minute drive.
> Can I walk to the beach?
Yes. There is a public footpath to Widemouth Bay which takes around 45 minutes. There is also a flat canal walk from Marhamchuch to Bude straight to Summerleaze Beach (about an hour). This walk also incorporates a cycle path.
> Where is the nearest supermarket?
Our nearest supermarket is Morrisons just two miles from Hilton.
> Is there a restaurant nearby?
There is a pub in the village, the Bullers Arms. They are not currently serving food on a regular basis – however you are welcome to get a takeaway and eat it there. There is a mobile chef who parks outside the pub on Weds evening and serves curry and also on a Sunday when they do a Sunday roast. Bude has a wide range of restaurants, bars and pubs. Close by, the Weir on the A39 is a family friendly café and bistro: www.weir-restaurant-bude.co.uk.
> Have you got off road parking?
Yes, we have private off-road parking.
> Are any of the cottages suitable for disabled?
Yes. Pound Cottage is all on one level with parking directly outside. All rooms and doorways are suitable for access with a wheelchair and it is all on one level. Please note the bathroom has an over the bath shower. Our cottages for two are also all one one level with parking available near to the cottages – they are suitable for people with restricted mobility, but not for wheelchair users.
> Is there a BBQ?
We have a large brick built BBQ for guest use. The Farmhouse has a BBQ in the garden. We have two other portable BBQs which are available to borrow.
> Are there laundry facilities?
There are washing machines or washer/dryers in the Farmhouse, Parsons, Manor, Pound and Badger Cottages. There is an on-site laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer. There are washing lines and airers available.
> Are there freezers?
There are freezers or fridge freezers in the Farmhouse, Parsons, Manor, Pound and Primrose. Badger has a small worktop freezer. All other cottages have freezer boxes in the fridge.
> Are owners on-site?
Hilton is family-run and the owners live onsite. Faye and Bernardo are available for any queries or to report any problems to.
> Is there anywhere to store bikes?
We do not usually have indoor space for bike storage.
> Where are the cottages?

Pound, Manor and Parsons
In the top right of the photo are Pound (sleeps 4), Manor (sleeps 6) and Parsons (sleeps 7). Pound is the smaller cottage nearest the trampoline, Manor is in the middle and Parsons is on the end nearest the entrance with the trees.
The Farmhouse
Moving down on the right hand side, the Farmhouse is the larger house on the left of the entrance as you drive in, with the garden around it.
Swallow’s Nest, Primrose and Badger
Immediately opposite the swimming pool are Swallow’s Nest, Primrose and Badger. Swallow’s Nest is on the left, Primrose in the centre and Badger on the right nearest the Farmhouse.
Nook, Stable and Pear Tree
Finally, the Nook, Stable and Pear Tree back on to our fields. The Nook is on the left, Stable in the centre and Pear Tree on the right nearest the Farmhouse.
> Is there wifi?
We have a BT wifi network for our cottages. However, please note that this is rural wifi and unlikely to be as good as your home connection. It should be fine for most requirements (e.g. checking emails etc), although it can get a bit slow if everyone is trying to connect at the same time. Our larger cottages have smart TVs. Please note that we can’t guarantee our wifi bandwidth will be good enough for you to be able to stream films on Netflix, Amazon Prime or similar. We do have DVD players in all cottages.
> What is your cancellation policy?
Please see the details in our terms and conditions. You can find the full terms and conditions here, or a link was provided in your booking confirmation email. We will always try to re-let the cottage if you need to cancel so that we can refund you. The more notice we have the better. If it is very close to the date we may only be able to re-let at a discounted rate, in which case we will be able to refund part of the cost.
“CANCELLATION OF A BOOKING
- Please inform us immediately in writing if you wish to cancel your booking and we will try to re-let the cottage. If we are able to re-let the cottage for the same period as your original booking, we will refund the cost of the stay less an administration charge of £50. Unfortunately if we are not able to re-let the cottage, you are liable for the total cost of the holiday and we will not be able to give a refund. We advise guests to take out independent holiday insurance.
- In exceptional circumstances Hilton Farm Holidays may be forced to cancel or cut short a booking (for example in the case of fire, floods or damage to a property). We will do our best to offer an alternative property but if this is not possible or you do not wish to accept the alternative, a refund will be offered. Hilton Farm Holidays is not liable for any compensation or other costs arising in these circumstances.”
> Smoking
All of our cottages are non-smoking. Please do not smoke or vape in any of our buildings or in the pool area. Please do not smoke near an open window or door. If you would like to smoke outside please let us know before arrival so that we can provide an ash tray.
> What is provided in our cottage?
In your cottage you will find:
All bed linen (except for travel cots)
A bath towel and a hand towel per guest, a bath mat and hand towel in each bathroom – not to be used for pool, hot tub or the beach. Please bring your own towels if you want to use the pool, hot tub or you are planning a trip to the beach.
Handwash and one toilet roll in each bathroom. We do not provide body wash, shampoo or conditioner.
A hair dryer
An iron and ironing board
Washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, all purpose cleaning spray, tea towels, washing up sponge, spare bags for the waste and recycling bins.
Please note that we do not provide oil, salt, pepper or other cooking basics.
