“The site is very well managed. The pool and jacuzzi are very clean and well looked after in comparison to other cottages I have visited. The site provides barbeques and outside tables so you can relax outside weather permitting. Surrounding views are amazing, and the owners ‘leave you to it’ which is how I like it to be.”
Our outdoor hot tub is open all year round (9am-8pm). The hot tub is within the same secure area as the pool, with great views over the countryside. The hot tub and pool are shared facilities. At busy times when the pool is closed we use a booking system for the hot tub so guests can book a slot for private use (usually over the October half term, Christmas and New Year).
Our all weather tennis court is open all year round for guests. A small selection of rackets and balls is provided, but keen tennis players might want to bring their own. Our tennis court is set next to the fields, with great views over the countryside.
Take some time to relax and enjoy a spa treatment during your holiday. Book a treatment with our experienced local therapist, Sandra Dumas who is highly recommended by our guests and locals too. Sandra prides herself on tailoring treatments to a client’s individual needs. Sandra usually works from her home which is just down the road, but she may be able to come to your cottage if there a group of guests who would like to book a treatment. Our swimming pool is a favourite with children. The heated outdoor pool is open from the main school Easter holidays to the end of September (9am-8pm). Our pool is heated to 30° c, so the water is always warm, even if the sun is not shining. The swimming pool is within a secure fenced area so it is safe for small children. There is a sun terrace around the pool with sun loungers and plenty of seating. Our hot tub is in the same area. Please note this is a shared facility for all cottages.
We have a large playing field with plenty of space for running around. There are swings, a slide, a trampoline (with safety net) and toys for toddlers. There are two football goals and balls. There is also a bench so you can hopefully take a moment to enjoy the views while the children run around.
If you would like a break from cooking, try a local chef-run catering company, Nicky Vereker Catering. Nicky offers a delivery menu of tasty meals which you can simply heat up in your cottage. To avoid too much food shopping on holiday, many guests choose to book a supermarket delivery. Asda, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose all deliver. You can find our address here and please put the name of your cottage on the order. If you prefer to do your shopping locally, Bude has a range of good small food shops. There is a butcher, bakeries, a wine shop and Landsdown Dairy , which sells local cheese, fruit and vegetables and groceries. For fish, there is a good fishmonger selling locally caught fish, as well as groceries and very locally reared meat, at Widemouth Bay (next to the Beach House hotel). We have a small community shop in Marhamchurch, which sells basic groceries. Bude also has a Morrisons, Lidl, Co-Op and a small Sainsbury’s.
We can provide travel cots, high chairs, stair gates and baby baths (free of charge). Please let us know in advance if you would like any of these. We have a range of travel cots suitable for newborns to toddlers. We do ask guests to bring their own cot linen. Please ask if you would like any other baby kit as we may be able to help.
Our games room is in a log cabin next to our fields with a smaller grass play area outside. Our games room has a pool table, mini table tennis, table football. There are DVDs and children’s books to borrow. Open 10am-8.30 pm daily.
